You have often heard about Harshad Mehta Scam or Scam 1992. Do you know what is Harshad Mehta Scam or Scam 1992? Harshad Shantilal Mehta was born on 19 July 1954 in Gujarat.
Harshad Mehta started his own company in Bombay in 1984 and took membership of Bombay Stock Exchange. Due to being interested in the Share Market, he started understanding every nuance of the Share Market. By the decade of 90, he started appearing in every major newspapers and magazines.
Then he came to be known as the big bull of the stock market. Whatever stock he used to buy, he used to touch the sky like he made the share price of Acc Cement reach from 200 to 9000 in a few days. He used to take a loan from the bank for just 15 days and invest it in the stock market and return the money to the banks by earning profits of crores through insider trading.
In 1992, he could not return the bank's money due to the fall in the stock market, then such a big scam came to the fore, in which he had done a scam of about 4025 crores. This was the biggest scam in the stock market and since then insider trading has been banned in India. Harshad Mehta had 72 criminal charges and about 600 civil cases filed. He died on 31 December 2001 late night due to unhe chest pain.
