Yes Bank Fraud:

On December 18 2017, Yes Bank made its entry in the 30-share S&P BSE Sensex. This was a milestone for this 15 years old bank run by Rana Kapoor and Late Ashok Kapur.

But this was also the year when, RBI noticed bad loans of Yes Bank.

RBI found that 31st March 2014, Yes Bank loans had increased highly and went to 2.25 trillion as of Sept 30 of 2019.

The Yes Bank has a total liability of 24 thousand crore dollars.

The bank has a balance sheet of about $40 billion (2.85 lakh crore rupees).

Soon, Mr. Rana Kapoor, was arrested on allegations that he has approved corporate loans that amounted to "bad" loans. His actions had taken total number of non-performing assets to 42000 crores.

Kapoor was alleged to have received over $100 million as bribes over bogus loans extended by Yes Bank to DHFL and Kapoor used these to buy homes and properties across the country.

Rana Kapoor is in jail while Yes Bank's share has fallen from Rs.400 in 2018 to becoming just another penny stock.
