These are not some filmy dialogues, but age old sayings in Gujarati about the share bazaar. But why Gujarati's have so much love for the market?

Nothing is hotter for Gujaratis than the stock markets. The Ahmedabad Stock Exchange, which has been in existence for over a 100 years, is the second oldest exchange after the BSE. Gujarat also happens to have two other stock exchanges at Rajkot and Vadodara.

Data shows that Maharashtra(1.9 Cr) has most number of registered investors in equity segment, yet Gujarat with 1.01Cr registered investors is the only state with its three cities, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot making to the top 20 cities in India by monthly turnover in stocks.

A 2011, IIM A study revealed that 1 out of 4 individuals in Gujarat have equity investments.
